The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences is looking for a proactive and self-motivated Programmes Administrator to join our Taught Programmes Team in a full time, permanent post. 

You will play a key role, working closely with other team members and academic staff to ensure the smooth and efficient administration and operation of our degree programmes within the Faculty. 

Previous experience

You will have previous experience of working in an administrative support role (preferably with experience of student administration) or equivalent experience working in a busy office in an administrative role.

Key activities 

  • Day-to-day administrative support for degree programmes
  • Student and staff enquiries
  • Student data management
  • Processing student assessments and results
  • Arranging events like Welcome Week and plenaries

  • Accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage a busy workload
  • Teamwork
  • Effective communication skills are essential as you will work closely with your team, academic colleagues and students from across the world
  • Strong digital literacy
  • Taking the initiative and problem-solving

We are seeking a hardworking, motivated individual to join the busy Placements team within our Faculty on a fixed-term basis until December 2025. 

You will be supporting placements within our Department of Economics. 

As a team we play a vital role in researching and developing opportunities to generate new placements, in the UK and overseas, as well as maintaining positive relationships with current providers and partner institutions, ensuring that services are effective and adapt to changing circumstances. You will act as a point of contact for undergraduate and postgraduate students, staff, partners and employers, taking care of enquiries and providing guidance.

This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week), fixed term basis for maternity cover with an expected date of 05/12/2025 or the early return of the post-holder.
