Importantly, you will support the Room Leader acting as a role model in supervising and monitoring Nursery Assistants, casual workers, students and volunteers. 

You will:

  • be a good team player with sound communication and organisation skills
  • have knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum with the ability to support the development of our children
  • have relevant qualifications (minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or above)
  • be able to work in a team to observe, assess and plan as a key person
  • be able to produce written documentation to support the progress of individual children, being sensitive to their needs.

  • Reporting maintenance issues
  • Planning and achieving turnaround of accommodation, for example preparing rooms for student intake.

This is a great position to learn and develop basic skills within a sporting environment where you will get to work alongside high-performance athletes, many of whom compete in the Summer and Winter Olympics.

About the role

You will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and be able to work varied hours. Your main responsibilities will consist of

  • lifeguarding
  • setting up indoor and outdoor activities
  • setting up events
  • assisting with general enquiries from customers
  • responding to ad hoc requests for support

You will also be involved in patrolling facilities, security, cleanliness, health and safety and emergency procedures.

Part of this role involves lifeguarding duties and therefore you will need to have a lifeguarding (NPLQ) qualification. You can gain the qualification by completing a short course with the - find out more here:

About the role

  • Organising the team of 5 cleaners in order of areas and priority - the Sports Training Village opens at 08.00 to members of the public, students etc. 
  • Provide induction training and on-going training
  • Liaise with the Duty Managers on site for event planning

  • Ensure that areas are always cleaned to the highest standards.
  • Always maintain Health & Safety standards using COSHH in line with the recommended instructions.
