This is an exciting position at an International University based in the City of Bath for any applicant that is looking to help and support students and staff within a Higher Education setting. The position covers the main University campus and City campus buildings off site. Together with a team of security staff, the post holder is responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout both campus and City campus student accommodation and other University Buildings. The post holder will be the operational supervisor for at least five members of staff and will act as the initial operational manager for critical and operational incidents, when on duty. The post holder will be supported by senior Security managers.  

This role is strongly customer focussed and the applicant must demonstrate an ability to perform well within a team and also be able to demonstrate the use of initiative whilst working alone when dealing with staff issues, staff development, incident and event management, emergencies, medical first aid response, alarm activations and many other reported incidents.

The applicant is required to have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with a diverse International community, providing understanding, support and outstanding customer service. You will be expected to be computer literate and able to operate a number of software packages, both bespoke to the University as well as more general software. Training will be provided if required.

The post holder must hold a full manual driving licence for manual motor cars, be First Aid At Work (FAAW) trained and hold a Security Industry Authority licence to perform their role (training can be given for the latter 2 requirements).

The basic working week is 38.5 hours which includes 36.5 hours + 2 hours contracted overtime; these hours will be worked on a shift basis generally covering 24/7 365 days of the year including weekends and Bank holidays. The position is subject to enhanced DBS check.

The University Hospitality Department provides catering to students, staff and external customers throughout the academic year and during the summer months. There are numerous outlets run by the Hospitality Department offering a range of food and drink options.

We currently have three vacancies for a Food & Beverage Assistant. The positions are working 5 out of any 7 days per week on a permanent contract and vary in hours and contract type, so we ask that you note your preference (or state if you are happy to be considered for all) in the supporting statement on your application. As a Kitchen Porter you will be responsible for delivering and receiving stock, maintaining excellent hygiene standards, operating dishwashers and carrying out daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, cutlery and crockery as well as setting up tables and furniture.

The successful candidate should work well within a team and have experience of working in a kitchen porter/general porter role and providing an excellent standard of customer service.

We are now looking for Cleaning Supervisor to join our team!

25 hours per week
04.00 am – 09.00 am (Monday to Friday)

Do you have a passion for cleaning and an early bird? Are you approachable? Willing to learn new skills? Able to communicate at all levels? Great at problem solving? Then is could be a great opportunity for you. We can offer a warm friendly team to work alongside with as well as great benefits.

Your duties and responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

  • Working alongside a team of 7 cleaners
  • Organising the team in order of areas and priority 
  • Provide induction training and on-going training
  • Liaise with the Duty Managers on site
  • Report any issues or faults
  • Ensure that areas are always cleaned to the highest standards including Changing Rooms, Toilets, Office Spaces, Corridors, Sports Hall, Stairs and General customer areas.
  • Always maintain Health and Safety standards using COSHH in line with the recommended instructions. 
  • Re filling all Soaps/Antibacterial liquids/Cleaning agents, Paper Towels and Toilet Rolls.
  • Good attention to detail

You may also be required to use machinery, but don’t worry, we will give you all the training you need in order to use it.

You must be committed to the role and be willing to work individually and as part of a team, carrying out a variety of different cleaning roles and where necessary, be prepared to undertake training. The Sports Training Village is used for a number of sport events during the week and on weekends and this is where we are looking for our staff to be flexible and be available to work on the occasional weekends or additional hours for which they will be paid in accordance with terms and conditions of service.
